case study

CII used Bluetooth broadcasting at the International Hospitality Fair-2007 at Pragati Maidan, Delhi. Visitors were greeted with a Poster that informed them that the Main Hall was a Bluetooth Zone and they could get event information by switching on their Bluetooth and accepting the Bluetooth Broadcast. The information was sent in the form of a Java application that consisted of the following sections

a. Home: (Spoke about event details)
b. Exhibitors: (List of exhibitors, when clicked one, it leads to a home page of the exhibitor, contact information and a one pager about their products)
c. Sponsors: (List of sponsors with one page branding space)
d. Concurrent events:(Other events taking place within the main event)
e. Speakers/delegates: (Information about the speakers)
f. Reminders: (Here the visitor can set reminders for himself for specific events or speakers.)
g. About CII: ( Future CII events)

This technology got extremely positive reviews from all quarters. Lalit Suri of Voltas, an exhibitor at the event, said “We find this an extremely useful marketing tool to get into the mobile phones of visitors. Now that our contact information is with them, they can get back to us at any time.”

Jitesh, the organizer of the event & a CII representative said “The age of paper pamphlets is over. Everyone who attends such an event has a Bluetooth mobile phone and is technology savvy. Visitor could access event information from anywhere within the venue and do not need to carry pamphlets or head back to the enquiry counter for details. Application can set reminders for specific mini events which is invaluable to an organizer. Besides providing convenience to visitors, CII is also helping their exhibitors and sponsors market themselves better”. The 4 day event had hundreds of downloads.
